Once you’ve moved in

When you sign your lease you will be assigned a dedicated Property Manager who you can contact with any questions or issues that come up at any point. Your Property Manager will also arrange to visit you at the property every three months to ensure everything is running smoothly.

Paying your rent

You can pay your rent in person at one of our offices, over the phone by calling 0131 553 0053 or via direct debit (just ask for a form to set this up).

Emergency Maintenance

Emergency maintenance must be reported immediately. Emergencies are:

  • If you smell gas – call Transco 0800 111 999 right away
  • If there is a fire – call 999 right away
  • If there is a flood or a major leak
  • If you have had a break in or a fire and need windows/doors secured
  • If there is a serious building problem, like your ceiling has fallen in
  • If something else has happened which could endanger your life or someone else’s

In an emergency, contact our office right away on 0131 553 0053 or 0141 428 3263. If it is out of office hours you will be given an emergency number to call.

If it is not an emergency please let us know the issue by phone the next business day or by filling in the Maintenance Request form.

Some troubleshooting tips for common problems are below. Click on the relevant section for more information:

Smoke alarms

Smoke alarms will beep when the battery is running out. If the alarm beeps and there is no sign of smoke or fire, try changing the batteries.

Blocked drains

  • Have you cleared hairs, soap, food etc from the waste pipe and drain?
  • Have you tried pouring hot water down the sink or using a drain cleaner to try and free the blockage?
  • Have you removed old food from the kitchen waste and poured boiling water down the drain?
  • Are there leaves blocking the drains outside?

No hot water

  • Have you got credit on your gas or electricity meter? Are you up to date with payments to the energy supplier?
  • If your heating is electric, check the fuse box to see if the fuse has blown. You may need to flick the switch back on to make the system work
  • If your heating is gas, check if the pilot light has gone out. If so, follow the instructions on the boiler to relight it.

No power

  • Have you got credit on your electricity meter? Are you up to date with payments to the electricity company?
  • Is it one appliance that isn’t working? Try it in another socket, or try something else into the socket to make sure it’s not the appliance that’s not working.
  • If it’s a light that’s not working, check whether the other rooms work – it may be that the light bulb has blown and needs to be replaced.
  • If you have no power at all through the house, check with a neighbour to see if theirs is on – it might be that the whole building or street is affected.

Washing machine not working

  • Is the switched on at the socket? Is the socket definitely working?
  • Are the washing machine taps turned on at the wall?
  • Is the door closing properly?
  • If the machine has stopped halfway through a cycle, make sure it’s not overloaded or out of balance; re-arrange items evenly in the drum before re-starting.

Leaks

For a minor leak, please submit a Maintenance Request online or during normal office hours call 0131 553 0053 or 0141 428 3263.

For a major leak, call 0131 553 0053 or 0141 428 3263 immediately.
